We're pretty excited to celebrate this new addition and new stage in our lives. My challenge to you for the Crafty Girls January challenge is to celebrate NEWNESS ....it doesn't have to be a new baby...perhaps it's a New Year, new marriage, new job, new friend, etc. In addition, use the opportunity to try a out a new technique (or template, something you haven't tried before).

I decided to use one of my newest Hero Arts/Operation Write Home stamp sets. I used the "All The Time" set. I love to use clocks, so I was excited to get this set.

I used SU! Not Quite Navy for the card base. I mounted the DSP (SU! Letters from Santa) on Chocolate Chip card stock. I took another piece of Chocolate Chip card stock and used the scalloped punch. I stamped the clock image onto a piece of Crumb Cake card stock with Not Quite Navy and cut it out and mounted it with Stampin Dimensionals.

Happy Birthday Horses

This is a belated Birthday card I made for my father. His birthday was in November but I just hand delivered it to him this morning. I'm not sure of the source of the image but I love those galloping horses. I used SU! Crumb Cake (I still have to stop myself from typing Kraft!) for the card base. I embossed at piece of Cajun Craze cs with the SU! Houndstooth embossing folder and mounted that to the card base. I added a piece of Chocolate Chip strip to the Cajun Craze layer. I stamped the image and sentiment on a piece of Crumb Cake with Chocolate Chip ink and mounted it a Chocolate Chip piece. I used my new Corner Chomper on the image and Chocolate Chip layer and added three brads.

Crafty Gals December Challenge

The Crafty Gals Blog Group's December Challenge is the THE POWER OF THREE! We were required to make a holiday card keeping the number 3 in mind. Everything on the card had to be in 3's. 3 layers (card base does NOT count as a layer), 3 stamped images (or an image with 3 things on it), 3 embellishments (3 buttons, 3 ribbons etc. or 1 ribbon, 1 pearl, and 1 brad etc).

I used my favorite Stampin Up! set, Lovely as a Tree, again. I stamped it in Chocolate Chip ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut the image into 3 pieces. I then mounted the images on to pieces to Chocolate Chip cardstock and then mounted those pieces to an embossed piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock making up my three layers excluding the Crumb Cake based that I used. The person receiving it along with a box of goodies is a secret until Saturday. All items used to make the card are SU unless noted otherwise. The card base is Soft Suede, layered with Cherry Cobbler and then a piece of Deck the Halls DSP. I gold embossed the sentiment (Bells and Boughs set) on a oval punched (Marvy punches) piece of Cherry Cobbler and then layered that onto a oval scallop punched piece of Soft Suede. I then used a gold Krylon pen on the edges of the scalloped oval. I meant to add a piece of Very Vanilla satin ribbon but I had adhered the pieces done before I remembered. Oh well. Maybe next time. My sister's birthday is Saturday, so I will be posting her card tomorrow.

I haven't posted in a long time. My father's birthday was November 16, so I am posting the card that I made for him. I used one of my favorite SU sets, Lovely as a Tree. For the base of the card, I used Old Olive card stock. I layered that with a piece of Crumb Cake stamped with Old Olive and Chocolate Chip with the weeds stamp from the Inspired by Nature set. I then used a strip of Old Olive DSP layered onto a piece of Chocolate Chip. The main image is from the Lovely as a Tree set layered onto a piece of Chocolate Chip. I stamped the tree with Chocolate Chip and then colored the leaves with my Certainly Celery marker.

SU Stars Holiday Blog Hop

Welcome to the SU Stars Holiday and Winter Blog Hop 2010. Hopefully you arrived here from Heather's blog. If you didn't, you can continue on from my blog and you can still complete the full circle of approx. 112 blogs for this tour.

Operation Write Home's mission is to support our nation’s armed forces by sending blank greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them. Operation Write Home will be collecting Valentine's Day cards to send to the troops until Jan. 7. Unfortunately, the deadline has passed to send Christmas cards but they are always accepting cards for birthday, Thinking of You, Anniversary, Sympathy and any other non-holiday occasion. Please go to http://operationwritehome.org/ for more info.

You can help Operation Write Home win $50, 000 for their cause from Joann Fabric and Craft Stores. Joann's is giving away $50, 000 to the charity that gets the most online votes by Dec. 4. Please go to http://www.joann.com/CraftForaCause to vote for OWH. You can vote once each day per email address.

The card I made for this hop uses the Stampin Up! sets I {heart} hearts and Baroque Motifs. I haven't used Baroque Motifs in a long time so it was nice to pull it out again. I used a retired stamp for the sentiment. I hope you enjoy my card and the rest of the hop.

Stamp Sets: I {heart} hearts, Baroque Motifs, More Great Greeting (retired)

Card Stock: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White

Ink: Real Red, Basic Black

I hope you liked my card. Maybe I will be back later today or tomorrow to do this weeks SCS Color Challenge.

SUStars Inaugural Blog Hop

Welcome to the inaugural blog hop for SU Stars. It is a card I made for a monthly Demo swap on Splitcoaststampers. It's a little late. It was due in July. Yikes.

The picture has some glare, so I will try to take a better picture later and repost it.

This is the first card I made with my Sweet Scoops set from the Summer Mini. The card base is made with Marina Mist. I stamped the sentiment on the Whisper White panel and then used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder in my Big Shot. I used the Scallop Trim Border on the Cherry Cobbler layer. For the ice cream cones, I stamped the cones in Early Espresso, stamped off once. I stamped one each of the ice cream tops in Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie and Regal Rose, cut them out and adhered them with Stampin' Dimensionals.

VC ROCKS 2010 BLOG HOP #3

Welcome to the next stop on the VC Rocks 2010 Blog Hop #3. Hopefully you arrived here from http://www.scrappin-for-sanity.blogspot.com/. If not, you can go to the beginning of the tour at http://www.vcrocks.blogspot.com/ .

The theme for the first VC Rocks Blog Hop is retiring Stampin Up! colors or Summer Mini. I used the Upsy Daisy and Friends 24-7 stamp sets, the Polka Dots embossing folder and Cameo Coral and Ruby Red ink. I hope you enjoy this card and the entire tour.

As I was uploading this card, we had an earthquake here in Los Angeles. Hopefully everyone is okay.

Thanks for stopping by. For my card I used Splitcoast Sketch Challenge SC232 and Stampin Up! Baja Breeze and Pacific Point cardstock and Pacific Point Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from Rubbernecker. I colored her in with Prisma Premier pencils and blended with baby oil.

I hope you enjoy the hop. In addition to the fabulous eye candy, we have decided to hide a prize somewhere along the hop! One pre-selected blogger will draw a random winner from the comments on her post, and the winner will receive a $40 Gift Voucher to Stamping Bella!!! The fun part is...we're not telling you who it is! So as you hop, make sure you leave comments on every post so you have a chance to win!! We will announce the winner on Monday in the Splitcoast forum.
