Operation Write Home Bunny Blog Hop

Welcome to the next stop on the Operation Write Home Bunny Blog Hop. Hopefully you arrived here from Valerie's blog (http://ediehardy.wordpress.com/). If you didn't, you can continue on from my blog and you can still complete the full circle of approx. 132 blogs for this tour. If you would like to start from the beginning, you visit http://http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org/

Operation Write Home's mission is to support our nation’s armed forces by sending blank greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them. Operation Write Home will be collecting Easter cards until March 18th and Mother's Day cards until March 31st. They are always accepting cards for birthday, Thinking of You, Anniversary, Sympathy and any other non-holiday occasion. Please go to http://operationwritehome.org/ for more info.

The card I made for the hop is using one of the new stamp set, Nature Walk, from the Stampin Up! Occasions Mini catalog that is good until March. 31. I used the Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge #322 (SC322) to make my card. I stamped the main image in Basic Black and colored it in with Rose Red and Certainly Celery.

Cardstock: Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Rose Red.

Ink: Basic Black, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Rose Red

Misc: SU! Botanical Gazette DSP, Basic Pearls and Stampin Dimensionals

I hope you enjoyed my project. Please visit Kapree at http://kcincognito.blogspot.com/ for the next stop on the bunny hop.

Operation Write Home Bunny Blog Hop is tomorrow

I haven't posted in over a month. My mother passed away on Feb. 9 after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer, so I haven't had too much time to stamp and quite honestly, I lost my mojo. So to help get it back, I am participating in the Operation Write Home Bunny Blog Hop tomorrow. There are currently 135 stampers signed up, so there should be lots of wonderful cards to see. The theme will be Easter/Spring. The posts are scheduled to go live by 7am PST (10am EST). Hope to you there tomorrow.

SCS Wish Rak New Year's Card Challenge 2011

This is a card I made for the Wish Rak New Year's Card Challenge over on the Splitcoaststampers website. This is for the St. Patrick's Day/Good Luck challenge (WRNYCC1101). The challenge took place over the New Year's Weekend. All cards made for the challenge are meant to be sent to troops serving overseas to use to send to their families. The challenge included 12 different challenges. I completed 10 of them and will be posting them over the next several days.

This is a card I made for my SCS Wish-RAK Letters to Santa Secret Exchange. The person receiving it along with a box of goodies is a secret until Saturday. All items used to make the card are SU unless noted otherwise. The card base is Soft Suede, layered with Cherry Cobbler and then a piece of Deck the Halls DSP. I gold embossed the sentiment (Bells and Boughs set) on a oval punched (Marvy punches) piece of Cherry Cobbler and then layered that onto a oval scallop punched piece of Soft Suede. I then used a gold Krylon pen on the edges of the scalloped oval. I meant to add a piece of Very Vanilla satin ribbon but I had adhered the pieces done before I remembered. Oh well. Maybe next time. My sister's birthday is Saturday, so I will be posting her card tomorrow.

I haven't posted in a long time. My father's birthday was November 16, so I am posting the card that I made for him. I used one of my favorite SU sets, Lovely as a Tree. For the base of the card, I used Old Olive card stock. I layered that with a piece of Crumb Cake stamped with Old Olive and Chocolate Chip with the weeds stamp from the Inspired by Nature set. I then used a strip of Old Olive DSP layered onto a piece of Chocolate Chip. The main image is from the Lovely as a Tree set layered onto a piece of Chocolate Chip. I stamped the tree with Chocolate Chip and then colored the leaves with my Certainly Celery marker.
