This is a card I made for my SCS Wish-RAK Letters to Santa Secret Exchange. The person receiving it along with a box of goodies is a secret until Saturday. All items used to make the card are SU unless noted otherwise. The card base is Soft Suede, layered with Cherry Cobbler and then a piece of Deck the Halls DSP. I gold embossed the sentiment (Bells and Boughs set) on a oval punched (Marvy punches) piece of Cherry Cobbler and then layered that onto a oval scallop punched piece of Soft Suede. I then used a gold Krylon pen on the edges of the scalloped oval. I meant to add a piece of Very Vanilla satin ribbon but I had adhered the pieces done before I remembered. Oh well. Maybe next time. My sister's birthday is Saturday, so I will be posting her card tomorrow.

Monday, December 6, 2010

I haven't posted in a long time. My father's birthday was November 16, so I am posting the card that I made for him. I used one of my favorite SU sets, Lovely as a Tree. For the base of the card, I used Old Olive card stock. I layered that with a piece of Crumb Cake stamped with Old Olive and Chocolate Chip with the weeds stamp from the Inspired by Nature set. I then used a strip of Old Olive DSP layered onto a piece of Chocolate Chip. The main image is from the Lovely as a Tree set layered onto a piece of Chocolate Chip. I stamped the tree with Chocolate Chip and then colored the leaves with my Certainly Celery marker.

Splitcoaststampers 300th Sketch Challenge

I look at the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge every week even though I rarely have time to play along. I decided since this past week was their 300th sketch and they have lots of great prizes to give away, that I had better squeeze in the time to participate. I am seriously trying to find the time to participate in a few challenges each week and post them to my blog. We will see.

Here is the card I made. Since it's October, I decided to use my Wicked Cool stamp set from Stampin Up! I used the Wicked DSP, Rich Razzleberry, Crazy Cajun, Old Olive and Basic Black card stock along with Basic Black ink.
I hope you like it. Maybe I will be back later today or tomorrow to do this weeks SCS Color Challenge.

Monthly Demo Swap card for July

I have finally made a new card to add to my blog. It is a card I made for a monthly Demo swap on Splitcoaststampers. It's a little late. It was due in July. Yikes.
The picture has some glare, so I will try to take a better picture later and repost it.

This is the first card I made with my Sweet Scoops set from the Summer Mini. The card base is made with Marina Mist. I stamped the sentiment on the Whisper White panel and then used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder in my Big Shot. I used the Scallop Trim Border on the Cherry Cobbler layer. For the ice cream cones, I stamped the cones in Early Espresso, stamped off once. I stamped one each of the ice cream tops in Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie and Regal Rose, cut them out and adhered them with Stampin' Dimensionals.
